EventChatter is live!
June 16, 2009
Today we officially launched EventChatter! The goal of the service is to create a social hub for people attending the same event, and make it easy for others to monitor the conversation taking place. EventChatter aggregates all of the messages on Twitter related to an event, and makes it easy for attendees to join the conversation.
In addition to the chatter, EventChatter also provides a directory of Twitter users attending an event. If you’re attending an event, simply tweet “@eventchatter #hashtag” to join the directory of an existing event, or create and join an event directly from the site. We hope the directory becomes a useful feature for Twitter users.
Since we’re focusing on providing communication tools for event attendees, we expect mobile will play a big role. We’re currently building out a mobile version of EventChatter, and expect to have it ready laterĀ this week. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, check out EventChatter, create or join events you’ll be attending, and tweet about EventChatter. We’re still in beta, so expect continuous improvement as we get feedback.
